My son has been to many residential treatment-centers, including a world class facility along with sober living homes. It is only through immerse recovery that my son has made miraculous progress. There is no doubt in my mind that this is due to, first and foremost the director himself, Wes!!!! WOW, this man is in it to win it, with his heart and soul! He truly cares and refuses to give up on anyone. The staff in the homes are second to none! Immerse Recovery has been a true blessing to my family and son! When my son arrived, I would’ve considered him to be very high maintenance! ANY and ALL,day to day challenges were identified and addressed immediately! There was never a period of waiting. They not only were addressed immediately, but with complete expertise and sincere care. No issue could wait, or be ignored. Without Wes and his program, I truly don’t know where my son would be today.

First Step was the ideal housing situation for me when I got out of rehab. I wanted a place that had a positive vibe and a sense of community, with people genuinely trying to keep themselves clean. Wes Heim was a great house manager and advocate for positive change.. always looking out for our best interest. He is a no nonsense leader, which we all liked and respected. We had an incident with a guy coming to live in the house that was causing problems continuously on purpose. Wes removed him quickly so we could focus on our recovery and strengthen our community. If you are serious about recovering and starting your new life, First Step is the place to live!

This is a really awesome house for men to get their lives together. I came in with nothing and within months of living in this house my life had turned around completely. I really do owe a lot of what has occurred to First Step Sober Living. Both Wes and Mike are great guys and truly care about the guys in this house, and helping them move forward in life. I would refer First Step to anyone that is looking for a sober living home in San Diego. The house is also awesome, beautiful home with plenty of room to "do your own thing" as well as the be around a great group of guys who only want to better themselves in life. I would give this place 6 stars if I could.

This has been a great place for me in my recovery. The staff and managers are very kind and created a sober environment worth every penny. The house is in a great neighborhood and the amenities, including 2 separate TV rooms in a spacious house. The housemates are friendly and empathetic to all addicts. This is my safe haven. Newly remodeled with all new furniture and appliances. I am so grateful that i found such a great sober living environment.
