I have been to my share of clinics over the years. This clinic is number one and beyond compare. SOAP MAT is located in a proper medical park next to tri city hospital. The staff are happy and good fun people, the kindness and patience they give you is inimitable. I have been on methadone maintenance for about 13 yrs. It works for me, I have not used since I started treatment. Laura Rossi, Phd CEO/director of SOAP MAT is the best there is, there is no other way to put it "THE BEST". Thank you SOAP MAT staff for caring, kindness and patience. -chris

I’ve been to Mission, SOAP, and now Capalina and without question SOAP is the best. I would have never switched if it weren’t for insurance issues. In fact, that’s SOAP’s one and only downfall: they don’t accept any insurance besides Medi-Cal. Otherwise, though, they’re wonderful, caring, organized, and helpful - and a few dozen other positive adjectives, too. Contrast this with, say, Capalina who treats you like a prisoner, not a patient. When people say Methadone is liquid handcuffs, they’re talking about places like Capalina, not SOAP. SOAP helps you achieve your goals and never feels oppressive or ashamed - I wish I could say that much for Capalina. I’ll be switching back to SOAP as soon as possible.

I moved from st.louis here they made my transition easy! Got right into the routine. I love the staff the doctor Nd nurses. I love soap they will help you no matter what!!!! Ty for helping me stay clean!!!!!

Amazing nurses, amazing doctor! Staff is friendly and non judgmental and passionate about their work. I highly recommend for anyone who wants to better their life.

First off they are very clear about the hours and they do miracles. Anyone who think different I would tell them to go to Capalina in San Marcos and see what a bad clinic actually like.

Excellent nurses and doctors, very competent and professional. This is a great place to go if you have become dependent on opiates and strive to live a legal, productive and as normal as possible a lifestyle. My only complaint is that a few month back, I made it clear to my counselor (every patient is assigned a counselor who is supposed to give support to patients how ever they can, (periodic meetings maintain a potentially helpful and personal touch to the process of getting and staying "clean") that we simply did not see eye to eye and that she was not helping me. Eventually, I asked the senior counselor to assign me a different counsellor; I explained in more than enough detail with strong reasons for my request and, instead of getting me a new counselor, he had me try to make it work with the counselor I was no longer connecting with in a meaningful way. I'm still stuck with the same counselor (certainly a nice young lady in her own right) I just can't relate to. As a result, I'm not receiving the extra support a counselor could provide If I had one I felt I could talk with and get something from - our visits have become a formality that I just try to get through ASAP. Just about everything else about this clinic (except the loadies and riff-raff who hang out there who aren't serious about getting and staying off illegal drugs and act loaded and suspicious and make the whole clinic look bad) is great, from the receptionist to the nurses and doctors to the security guard; everyone that works there is amazing and hugely supportive of the struggle most patients are fighting to improve their lives and become positive, contributive members of society. Because some people who attend the clinic bring their street mentality with them, a second, (armed) guard and a ton of cameras have been added to the medical office complex within which the methadone clinic is located.

I love SOAP! Coming here is a pleasure and really has helped me stay clean! Staff and facility are amazing, warm and non-judgemental. 5 Stars all the way!
