I really liked the doctors and therapists at Casa. The family week was intense and helpful. I have faith now that my son is in his 10th week of sobriety. We'll be hitting their Friday Night meeting tomorrow and I look forward to seeing some of the gang. Special kudos to Dr. David Gray, who runs the treatment part of the facility (I think). He is both "in" The Program and he runs The Program at Casa. Very smart guy and an extremely good presenter. I'm grateful that Casa was there for us.

We can not say enough wonderful things about our experience with Casa Palmera. From the staff to the Doctors, Counselors and programs offered. We had an unbelievable support system. So many incredible groups, one on ones, options for different types of conditions not to mention the beautiful setting. I just wish we would have found them sooner. This was where our family member learned new ways to function in the crazy world outside! Thank you all!

A truly professional program that I can honestly say has saved the life of my adult son. The leadership and staff displayed extraordinary compassion for those affected by substance abuse. Their professional acumen is second to none. The providers and support staff made themselves available for questions and input towards the end-state of healthy transitional living. Casa Palmera Treatment Center has my highest recommendation. Their commitment to veterans and their loved ones is also displayed with their acceptance of Tricare. Thanks so much!

Casa Palmera changed my life. Before my admission this past September, my life was in shambles. I had many complex behavioral health issues that I could no longer manage on my own. Casa welcomed me with open arms. The therapists, doctors, nurses, techs, and other staff were all so amazing. The food was great. The rooms were comfortable. They made sure all of my needs were met. I came out of Casa Palmera a new woman, and I will be eternally grateful. I highly recommend anyone with a substance abuse or mood disorder receive treatment here. Hands down the best treatment center.

Casa Palmera was a life saving experience for me. First it was the only treatment center that took insurance other than PPO. Second the treatment center and staff were incredible. I drank for 20 plus years and also suffer from PTSD. They were compassionate with all my needs. Most of the therapists are in recovery as well, which helped because they had been in my shoes. They had been through what I was going through. I have my life, wife, and kids back now and am living a sober healthy life do to Casa Palmera. Treatment isn't the easiest think to ask for when your in the midst using, but Casa was the answer for me. I spent 30 days in residence and another 60 days in PHP/IOP. Casa's program gave me a strong foundation for continued recovery. Thank you to the staff, nurses, and therapists of Casa Palmera. My family thanks you as well

Best decision I ever made. There are people with a wide variety of issues and treatment plans from depression and PTSD to eating disorders to chemical dependency. Staff is caring and they do the best they can under the thumb of a Director who clearly is a micromanager. That being said, they do provide many services that other treatment facilities don't such as taking clients to the salon, a climbing wall and ropes course, walks on the beach and other outings and activities. The food is mostly very good and they cater to people who are vegetarians or just dislike certain foods such as pork, fish, etc. The grounds are beautiful and the accommodations are clean and comfortable. It has more of a retreat feel as opposed to a hospital or rehab facility. Kitchen, housekeeping, and nursing staff are all superb and amazingly friendly. The program is very structured in terms of plans for groups, meals, snack, and bedtime. The floor staff does not get enough credit as they are always incredibly busy and still have to enforce rules and guidelines. Imagine having to tell a bunch of adults to go to bed at 10pm. Like any therapy or treatment program, it is what you make of it and put into it. Go in for the right reasons and trust the process and you will leave a much better and stronger person. I'm grateful for my time at Casa and would highly recommend it to anyone in need of intensive treatment, regardless of the issue.

Every day I thank the world for bringing me to Casa Palmera. I've been in many treatment settings, and this is by far one of the best structured, best executed, most effective I've ever seen. The staff and treatment teams are beyond competent, and the groups all complement each other so well. It's actually eerie haha. The schedule is individualized, full and exhausting. This is not a program for anyone who isn't actually committed to getting better, or at least open to such commitment. It is HARD. The one thing to know is that this is a program rooted in the power of group therapy, so you won't get as many individual treatment sessions unless you specifically request more individual sessions of the specific appointments you need. I was extremely fortunate that I was able to get 7 weeks of residential treatment here. They did great work with my insurance and I was able to stay longer than the 30 days recommended, which was absolutely essential for my unique treatment needs. In other words, I came in essentially a lost cause, and left feeling like a myself that I never imagined I'd see again. I still get chills thinking about when I finally started to see improvements, and everyone around me saw them as well. Anyone I know in the "real world" would never believe I lost my smile, and didn't truly smile for months. I didn't even realize I wasn't smiling! Yet before discharge, my psychiatrist even told me that working with clients like me reminds her why she became a psychiatrist in the first place. Imagine my smile then! The one across the board issue that affected almost everyone was lack of communication between departments, and the requirement that almost any variation or individual receive explicit approval from the directors before the patient can get what they need. I really hope this is improving. Beside that, there are a number of "protocols" here (their term... lol) that I bumped up against during my stay. And many I found to interfere directly with my treatment. It was beyond frustrating how I constantly had to advocate for my needs. I didn't even want to have needs in the first place, and here I was having to not only admit to having them, but to assert myself for them! The funny thing to me is that, a couple months post-discharge, I can barely remember most of the issues that bothered me. Which I'm sure would make my therapist there laugh hard. What stuck with me is my confidence, my feeling of worthiness, my voice, my grounding and mindfulness practice, my sense of belonging. Those skills I acquired working with my treatment team on how to allow myself to feel angry, to voice my needs, that I am allowed to put myself first and get my needs met -- all of these are what I remember and treasure. Not the need itself. Thanks to Casa, and thanks to all the hard work they helped facilitate, somehow I'm learning to find myself and my place in a world that no longer has to be defined by trauma, anxiety, and all my maladaptive coping skills... I can live the life I've imagined, one with meaning, one that is worth living.

My significant other has been there for 2 days of her 30 day stay were going through our 72 hour black-out period and it's tough. I have called Casa 4 times in 2 days and they have been very responsive to my annoying calls. 28 days to go before we get to start our lives again.

I just came back from Casa Palmera, I went there for anxiety, trauma, and depression. All in all, It was a very good experience and I got a lot out of the program. The majority of the staff is wonderful. The higher ranked staff there like the CEO and what not are a bit money crazy and tend to put finance instead of the patients well being. That was the only issue I had with the place, they are all about getting their money. So if you can afford a place like this, you will love it. If you cannot afford it, I don't recommend you come here. However they work with most insurances, so you should first look into that. The food is extremely diet based, so its very bland, and boring. I hated that, its very strictly healthy and I think they left out a lot of necessary components, but It wasn't too horrible. Before you come in here you need to know that they will do anything in there power to make sure you stay the full 30 days. They can be pushy so you need to stand up for yourself and your needs. Other than that though, I enjoyed my stay. Most staff was amazing, the groups were very useful, and you get to make connections with the other patients there. With any treatment facility, YOU have to be willing to work hard. No program will work for you if you are not willing. So be open minded, participate in groups, and you'll get a lot out of this place. It really has helped me a lot and I still stand by my decision to seek treatment here. The location is beautiful and the facility itself is very very high class and stunning. Good luck to anyone considering treatment, Casa is a good place to go.
